Product Information

Quality and production Naturiga cocoa powder, which is produced from organic cocoa beans with fair trade agricultural practices, is processed by traditional methods. The rare, thin-shelled, high quality and naturally flavoured Criollo cocoa beans are hand-picked, and the raw cocoa fruit is transferred from box to box to ensure proper ventilation. They are then left to dry in the sun on large trays; this is where the reddish-brown colour develops, at which point they will lose most of their moisture and original bitter flavour. The moisture level of the raw cocoa beans on their way to the factory is kept under control along the way. At the factory, the raw cacao beans are carefully washed and roasted for a short time at low temperature with a special method called “gentle roasting” in order to preserve their nutritional values in order to be absolutely free from the bacteria that they are at risk of carrying due to the fact that they grow in the tropical region. At this point, the aroma and flavour develop, and the outer shell is loosened, separated from the shells, leaving only the cocoa bean. To extract the cocoa butter in the bean, it is mechanically pressed until it turns into a brown mass. The result is a solid “cocoa cake”, which is ground into powder. During this whole process, cocoa does not encounter any pesticides and chemical treatments according to the principles of organic agriculture. Alkalised and Dutch processing is not applied during the production phase. The cocoa powder from the manufacturer is sent to the quality control facilities in the European Union for tests for compliance with European Union Standards before it arrives in our country. It does not contain added sugar, additives, colouring agents, and any chemicals to extend shelf life. It is completely 100% cocoa powder. Naturiga Cocoa powder is supplied from its supplier, one of the good agricultural co-operatives and Fairtrade production. How do I use it? It can be mixed into warm milk with a natural sweetener such as agave or honey to prepare a delicious and hot drink, it can be used in smoothies, it can be added to breakfast oat bowls. It adds flavour and nutritional value to cakes, pastries, homemade chocolate, ice cream and many pastry products.
