Quality and production: The root of the Maca plant, which grows high in the Andes mountains, has been used by Peruvian indigenous people and warriors for centuries. Naturiga’s Maca plant is grown at just over 4,000 metres in the Peruvian province of Carhuamayo in an area called the “Bombom Plateau”. Maca roots are extracted by hand using a small hoe called a cashu to prevent damage, then dried naturally in the sun for 10-15 days. The carefully selected dry Maca roots are weighed and cleaned, then taken to the local processing factory. These roots are again washed, disinfected, and cut into small 10 mm strips before being dried completely at 45°C under humidity control. The dried strips are finely ground into powder and then subjected to the necessary final tests and quality checks before packaging. Maca root powder, which has passed the last stages, is packaged, and delivered to you. Why should I use this product? Maca absorbs so many nutrients from the soil that the soil can regain the same nutritional value only 7 years after harvesting. Many athletes use maca root powder in their pre-sport’s meals.
